Bangkok is a very busy city and if you can put up with the traffic, noise, heat and smog there are some great things to see and do there. It is a good place for cheap shopping with endless supply of shopping centres like MBK and markets. Have a suit made from one of the many tailors, have a Thai massage, and visit many of the unique temples around the city. Bangkok is an ideal stopping point to explore the rest of Thailand or for a short stopover.

Shopping:
- MBK is a great all round shopping centre in Siam Square where the locals shop.
- Chatuchak Weekend Market is only open on Saturday and Sunday from 8.00am to 6.00pm and is definitely worth a look. It gets extremely crowded and hot so go early. The best way to get out there is by Skytrain and get off at Mo Chit station which is almost at the entrance to the market.
- Pantip Plaza which is just north of Siam Square is specializes in computer software and equipment. Also has all the latest movies on DVD at great prices.
- Pratunam Market is open every day from 10.00am to 10.00pm.
